Winterize Your Vehicle! Nissan service specials in New Haven, CT? The power gets down to the pavement through Nissan’s now-ubiquitous continuously variable transmission; the old six-speed manual option has been nixed. The good news is that the CVT in the Sentra does a reasonably good job at mimicking a standard stepped automatic. There is an unmarked button on the gear shift that puts the Sentra into Sport mode, but it doesn’t seem to do much except remap the transmission to “shift” at a higher rpm. What’s really appealing about the 2020 Sentra is its price. You could get a nicely equipped SR without the premium package (heated seats and steering wheel, LED headlights, sunroof) for under $23,000, including $925 for destination. Even fully loaded, the Sentra doesn’t crest $25,000. That’s pretty darn good.
You can check the manufacturer’s website for rebates, since not all rebates are made public. Certain organizations receive discounts or coupons in the mail that give you additional rebates. Keep in mind that new car manufacturers are allowed to assign a servicing schedule to vehicles, and it’s your responsibility to make sure these schedules are kept. It’s up to you to decide whether the cash rebates or no-interest financing for new vehicles is worth it. Sometimes the cash rebate with a low-rate auto loan can be a better deal than the 0% APR. That cash rebate reduces the cost of the vehicle, making the loan amount smaller. Before you accept that 0% APR auto loan, find out what the repayment term is. Use an auto loan calculator to compare the 0% APR loan at a higher amount versus a low-rate auto loan with the rebate lowering the loan amount.

Like before, the Nissan Murano only offers one powertrain combination. A 3.5L V6 with 260 horses and 240 pound-feet of rotational force is more than adequate in moving around 4,000 pounds of Murano’s weight around the city and open highways alike. Thanks to a standard CVT transmission, it’s also adequately efficient, managing to return up to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway in front-wheel drive configuration. Of course, an all-wheel drive upgrade is available for $1,600 extra without sacrificing the base model’s above average fuel economy ratings. With no major changes, some of Murano’s issues carry over as well, and by issues we mean CVT droning and not overly enthusiastic steering. Also, a hybrid version is still nowhere to be found.
